Boy Comes Home

| | Comments (0)

Yes it is true!

I am home now, I actually arrived back in Vancouver yesterday at 1pm and caught the 3pm ferry back to Sidney. It was a strange end to the trip being on the ferry because it was also part of the beginning of the trip.

I came home had dinner, did laundry, had a shower, and then it was out to Evolution for Band of the Month. The Paper Cranes and one of my favorite local bands Cheers In The Belfry. It was a fun night out and I surprised some people by showing up, because I didn’t tell anyone when I was getting home.

Today I slept for a few hours, and watched a few episodes of The Long Way Round. I also pre-ordered a copy of Ewan and Charley’s new show The Long Way Down I polished off the new book in about 4 days while I was in the U.K. They are great books and shows and I’d recommend it to anyone.

Well I’m off to visit Logan.

Wow, time flies! Spent three days in the country and now I’m back in London. I went to see Ted Simon’s motorcycle and had quite a surprise. Charley Boorman’s bike from the Long Way Round way there. I got shivers up my spine. When I get home I’ll have a massive upload of photos seen I don’t have a computer right now.

See You Soon

London Calling

Hey all,

Well I’m in London now, after a month abroad in Europe I’m finally in a English speaking country. So far it’s been good but unfortunately it looks like I won’t be going to Ireland or Scotland because it is fairly expensive to fly there right now. Let’s say close to my flight here if I go to both. So it looks like I’ll be in the London area for a while before going to visit some family.

We’ve recently met up with our Aussie friend Jess who was one of our roommates in Munich. I’m hoping to get online at least once more before I go home. Try to get some photos up, and a post. It’s expensive here folks.

I plan on sometime in the future to travel the U.K. and Ireland in one trip. A week isn’t enough especially when you barely leave London. Interested in coming with?

Fire by Arthur Brown is playing right now.

It’s certainly different here. I should know I’ve been at Bulldogs for the last two hours. Apparently there is one in Vancouver too, weird I’d never heard of it.

This coffee shop has free wireless, so I’ve checked my email box, empty! Oh well, I’m off to try and find Ronnie at the Flying Pig.

Hey Folks,

I’m here in Brussels, and I was thinking I should post something. Well my fears of getting a cold are finally coming true, and it sucks. It all started with Rowan getting a cold a while back, and me hoping and praying I didn’t get it too. Well after the 400 steps to the top of Notre Dame Cathedral I was worse for wear. My energy wasn’t building itself back up like it usually does so I knew something was up.

So what did I do I went to the Moulin Rouge and spent a chunk of money, but had loads of fun. Who says backpacking is a hard life. We both got a half bottle of champagne and when the couples left the table at the end of the show we took their left-over champagne and drank that.

Living like a hobo! Bag salad with chips, dressing, and grated cheese is a meal. Maybe mix in tomatoes if you are feeling ritzy.

Paris was fun, but it is dirty. No one cleans up after their dogs, the streets flood, and it smells. Went to the catacombs, Jim Morrison’s grave, Notre Dame, Effeil Tower, and much more. Oh yeah Paris’s metro system sucks and is confusing. I’m glad I learned french in school back in the day it is helpful to know when you need to read the ingredients of everything.

Brussels is good. Very relaxed, and easy going. Got me a waffle today and some beer. Saw some pissing statue that is famous by accident. Oh well.
