Day 23: Web Tool.

Last year I got an invite to Brizzly. It kind of changed the way I tweet. This year nothing really changed the way I use the web.

In recent months I've become a supporter of tumblr. Not that I wasn't before I just use it more and more. It has its problems. Not working, full of porn, full of pointless reblogs, and teenage girls but I like using it. It is a nice side note to this blog. It means I don't have to clutter this up with music videos, music, and pictures I like and find interesting. Like here I don't use it everyday but and I only post what I'm interested in. Check out tsnldr: In the future there are no vowels.

Another helpful tool for the internet this year has been my iphone4. I'm connected all the time and I can get the things done I want to get done from my mobile. Although I've thrown away many hours playing Angry Birds.

Basically I'm saying throw away your life and get an iphone and tumblr.

Day 22: Start Up.

If you missed it at the beginning of the “Day Prompts” I mentioned one of my favourite blogs this year. It also happens to be my favourite start up of the year.

I don't know what I'm allowed to say about the future Journals Abroad, but let me say it is big. Something cool for travelers and writers alike. I'm very excited for the future of this little endeavor Ryley has going and I wish him the best with his trip to Australia in a few days.

Check out Journals Abroad.

Day 21: Project.

I've worked on several projects this year that will probably never see the light of day, but every one is just as important as the ones I've completed. This year was a big step in completing a few of my personal projects. We finally launched my portfolio, I got some things done around the homestead, and I finally realized I have to do somethings for myself. The last one was the hardest of the personal projects.

It seems like I've been working on thesidneyproject for the better part of 5 years, and I know I have. The idea behind the project has changed several times over those years. I'm sure part of that is working with limited resources, time, and people. One day I'll finish my little “dream” project I've been dreaming up for years.

It is finally getting the momentum and focus it deserves.

Day 20: New People.

There were a few new people in my life this year, and as you'd guess most importantly my nephew Dalix. He's an awesome little dude. I went out to Kingston, Ontario this summer to meet him and my sister and D came out for a visit for my dad's 50th birthday.

I also had the privilege of getting to know some people pretty well on the internet. It's weird to get to know people from the internet, it seems like something you'd be afraid of a couple years ago. I haven't met many in person due to geographical difficulties, but that doesn't mean anything. It's weird to have bonds with people you've never met. You've only read their words written on the cold glow of your computer screen. I think it is part of this new age and new generation of people. You don't just have to tolerate the people in your area, but can connect with people in the furthest reaches of the planet.

Technology is amazing for that one reason alone.

Day 18: Shop.

I don't have a favourite shop. I do enjoy going to the record store, comic book shop, and book store. I wouldn't call any of them my favourite shop though. I've already talked about my favourite business this year though and if you want to know where I would like you to spend your money I would recommend Cabin 12.

Or you know give me all your money.
